I’M NEW TO WEIGHTLIFTING. IS VALLEY STRONG WEIGHTLIFTING GYM FOR ME?
Our classes at Valley Strong are mostly catered toward the beginner-to-intermediate level. There’s no attitude or judgement here, just a motivating community of like-minded individuals who want to get stronger, just like you!
WILL THE VALLEY STRONG WEIGHTLIFTING GYM TEACH ME THE WEIGHTLIFTING BASICS?
Absolutely! We keep our classes small (16 or less) to be able to accommodate all skill and strength levels. The goal is to come in, start at whatever level you’re currently at, and with the help of our coaches continue to improve and level up!
DO THE VALLEY STRONG CLASSES REQUIRE SPECIAL GEAR FOR THE WEIGHTLIFTING GYM?
No, you can wear whatever you would normally wear to workout. We’ll provide all the equipment and gear you’ll need for the workout.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST WEIGHTLIFTING GYM CLASS AT VALLEY STRONG IN WOODLAND HILLS?
For your first class arrive about 10 minutes early so the coach can help get you set up. Bring a bottle of water and maybe a handle towel. If you have any injuries or conditions be sure to let the coach know so they can help you work around them.
HOW QUICKLY WILL I LEARN OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING AT VALLEY STRONG?
We integrate both Powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting into our programming weekly, along with other styles of weightlifting. While perfecting your lifts can be a lifetime endeavor, we are very effective in teaching the basics even in your first session. Within a few weeks of consistent attendance, you’ll have the basic movement mechanics, and as you improve you’ll begin to challenge yourself by lifting more weight. That’s how we get stronger and improve over time.
HOW SHOULD I SUPPLEMENT MY WEIGHTLIFTING GYM WORKOUTS AT VALLEY STRONG IN WOODLAND HILLS?
Supplementing your workouts effectively involves a combination of factors. Paying some attention to each of these will go a long way in your gains:
